Myths & Realities of the American Revolution - France's true role in the American Revolution
Myth #1: The Battle of Saratoga
Join us on Jul 9 at 5:30 p.m. to learn about the myths and realities of the American Revolution and the role of France in it.
This will be the first in a series of webinar presentations to discuss France’s role in the American Revolution.
Myth No. 1: The Battle of Saratoga was the “Turning Point” of the American Revolution because it brought France into the war to help the Americans with Benjamin Franklin’s persuasion.
- Saratoga was NOT “THE Turning Point” of the American Revolution.
- Winning the battle of Saratoga was NOT the “trigger” for Americans to obtain French Aid.
- Ben Franklin was NOT the first American to develop a relationship with France.
- The American DID NOT begin to win major battles after the “Turning Point” of Saratoga.
Randy Flood, a historian specializing in American Revolution history through educational programs and public speaking engagements, will be our presenter. Randy is co-founder of the “The Real American Revolution” and the “American Revolution Consortium for Civic Education”.
